Our Full Consultation includes 6 main areas of focus:

Otoscopy

As part of the hearing tests for children, the Audiologist will look inside the ear with a medical instrument which will show the health of the ear canal and ear drum.

Video Otoscopy

In the hearing tests for children, you will be shown a live video of the inside of your child’s ear including key points such as the ear canal and ear drum with a full explanation along the way.

Tympanometry

An acoustic evaluation of the condition of the middle ear eardrum and the conduction bones is an important part in the hearing tests for children. By creating variations of air pressure in the ear canal we can detect Glue Ear.

Full Hearing Assessment

Pure Tone Audiometry with Air-Conduction and Bone-Conduction behavioural testing is the main part of a children’s hearing test. The full spectrum of frequencies tested allow us to understand the complete hearing ability and location of hearing loss in the auditory pathway. The objective testing also has the same outcomes.

Explanation of Results

Your Audiologist will talk you through the children’s hearing test results and will be able to diagnose and let you know what is causing their hearing problem.
